Day 25 and 26

Day 25 - I photographed this farm because I saw signs along the road advertising new homes in the field next to it. Sadly Lancaster's farmland keeps getting built over.

Day 26 - Cute!

Day 22 and 23

Day 16

The deeper I get into this project the more I start to see that I have two themes wanting to show themselves. One is light painting, which I love doing, but needs planning and models for the images to look how I want. The other is capturing the place where I live. The colors, mood and decay of the farming/country life style in Lancaster County. I've had this in the back of my mind for a while now but never made to move to start it. Doing this 365 and forcing myself out there everyday has made me go places that I otherwise had been too lazy to get to.I am excited at this new direction.

I am loving the moss!

No light painting today. I was hiking this morning looking for an abandon house to do today light painting in, but I couldn't find it lol. Enjoy these fog and dew photos instead :)

Day 6

Taken near my home this image looks to me like someone either leaving or entering our world through a portal.

My second favorite of the night. I took this a little earlier in the evening so I got some lovely fill in light from the surrounding area. I was trying to make an orb and will attempt this shot again at some point.

Day 5

This shot was done while we went hiking. We found a very narrow crevice that made for a good image, but for a tight fit when shooting photos!

Day 3 and Day 4

Day 3 - Blogger was being a pain and wouldn't let me update yesterday. Sorry for the delay!

Day 4
Fun with a pocket watch! This idea came to me while watching a Dr. Who episode involving a certain Fob Watch. Thanks Andy for being today's model!

Day 2

Today's photo I did in a small park near my house. I had big plans for light painting all the trees and having blue light work its way in between them like an animal of sorts. But guess what.... it was freezing outside! I am not a cold weather person by any means. Even after being inside for an hour after the shoot my hands are still aching. Enough complaining. I did get an abbreviated version of what I was going for and I got to experiment with a different light source. So, not a loss at all but a learning experience....must look for battery powered outdoor heaters.....

Day 1

For the year of 2013 I have decided to start a 365 project. What is a 365 project you ask? It is where every day for a year it is the artist's goal is to create something new each day. For me that will be a photograph everyday for a year.
I have decided to try and narrow my focus to photograph light painting images. At my job I photograph commercial and stock type imagery daily so I thought it'd be nice to flex my creative muscle and work on something more fluid.
Not to say I won't have days that I don't photograph a light painting pic, but I want that to be my main goal.

Day 1

I was freezing my butt off when I took this photo. The wind was tunneling through here and since I decided to challange myself with doing a daylight photo I also had a short exposure to work with. I feel like this is a good start to my project.
