Sky Captain inspired Photography

I love the way Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was filmed (Check out some film stills here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0346156/ )
So when we made a trip to the Lancaster air show I knew right away what I wanted to do to this shot!

Awesome plane right! Now to make this image more along the lines I was going for I needed to get rid of those pesky people hanging around the bottom of the scene. Add some photoshop magic and tada!

I think she turned out rather well :) Thanks for looking!!

Fundraising Calendar Preview!

So, I had this idea of making a calendar to raise money for the Furever Home Adoption Center in East Petersburg, PA. www.fureverhomeadoptioncenter.com
I talked to some of my very talented photographer buddies and we decided to collaborate by each of us photographing a month or two each. We had a crazy time setting up lights, corralling animals and getting "the shot". All in all we captured some very cute images :) The above  image is one of mine and a preview for the month of October.
We will be selling these at several brick and mortar stores as well as online through my Etsy store at www.etsy.com/shop/rlynnphotography
We are aiming to start sales in November. If you already know you would like a calendar feel free to let me know and I will reserve one for you! Rlynnphoto

If you are a photographer that does wedding photography you dream of having such awesome clients like Kelly and Grant. They are both such easy going, great people. It was a pleasure shooting their wedding. Below here I have a sneak peek of some of the images I captured during their big day :)

Thanks Grant and Kelly and much happiness for your future together!

Loki

Loki is a beautiful Domestic Long Haired cat that may be part Norwegian Forest Cat. He is one of the animals that the Forever Home Adoption center has available for adoption :) When volunteering at the adoption center I saw him enjoying "cat TV" and couldn't resist getting some cute shots.

Fish in Space

The idea for this photo manipulation started as a spark when I was a kid watching Sea Quest on TV http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SeaQuest_DSV. I liked the idea of the ocean being similar to outer space in that it was an undiscovered frontier. The idea grew as I was growing up and saw more and more images of the uniqueness of sea life and the beauty of a nebula in space. More recently while on vacation I saw these amazing fish at an aquarium that looked out of this world to me! So I decided to combine the ocean and outer space together to create this fun photo print!

Ghost Ship 2.0

Once again I dabble with ships or just one ship in this case. I had orginally done this photo without the fog coming in to one side but after the suggestion of a friend I added it in and I must say I do like the effect.
The harbor in this scene was shot in Philly's Penn's Landing area and the ship you can also find in Philly though not where it is currently cruising in this image of course ;)

Country Decay

This old chicken shack was built some 20 years ago and has been sitting untouched for at least 15 of those years. I was struck by the contrast in colors and by how well this structure has stood the test of time.

Childhood Memories

This photo manipulation was inspired by days on the playground having grand adventures with my imagination :)

Thanks to my niece and one of our family dogs for posing for me!

New Toy!

I am not much of an electronics geek except when it comes to new photography supplies. Since it looks like I will be doing more pet photography events as a way to raise money for the Furever Home animal adoption center, I decided to splurge a little and buy myself a 4x6 photo printer. I went with the Canon Selphy and I highly recommend it! It prints high quality photos ( the 4x6s are touted to last 100 years) and it just cute to look at. The darn thing is only the size of my two hands put together!
So in order to test it I set up a mock Spring/Easter themed photo shoot and got these adorable/scampy images.

If you are interested in getting some cute photos of your furry friends and helping to raise money for animals at the same time please come out to the Pet Safety Awareness event held at the East Pete Community Building from 12-5 on Sunday April 3rd. You can also get your furry friends mircochiped that day as well!

Ruins, A photo Feature

Please click here http://www.marchandmeffre.com/detroit/index.html

I first saw these photographs on a link on the Handmade Site Etsy. http://www.etsy.com/ and they blew my mind! To imagine in America there are such massive areas of decay and ruin is mind boggling to me. Especially with how beautiful a lot of these structures once were.
These photographs also make me remember all the spots in my area where homes and old factories have been abandoned, and it brings up a bit of sadness in how we are such a throw away type of people.

New Year New Photos

These photos were taken in Philadelphia during a New Years Eve wedding I went to.

John and Kate are the very happy Bride and Groom.

The church they were married in, Old St. Marys', is very beautiful. Family friends chipped in to provide music during the ceremony as seen to the left of the photo.

The reception was held at the Franklin Institute.

And the cake was delicious!

Hearts and Flowers

I must be in a romantic mood of late since this series of photos has that type of vibe to them. Enjoy :)
